This website was put up to answer the numerous questions
about why "Genie" is no longer associated with Genies Grooming Parlor
and to inform anyone looking for someone to groom their pet,
about the type of person who now runs this business.

Now, while I realize the phrase,
"The darkside of pet grooming" might seem a little harsh.
If you read on you should, at the very least,
come away with the feeling that something is
not quite right with this picture.


THE STORY:

According to Kim Allen, she has owned and
operated Genie's Grooming Parlor since 2005.


THE TRUTH:

Genie's Grooming Parlor was started
by Kim's mother "Genie" with her own personal funds,
and money obtained through a signature loan
from a finance company.

Kim's job was to answer the phones and to
help her mother, who is hearing impaired.

Prior to 2005, Kim had no experience grooming dogs
and any training she has received since then,
was provided by her mother.

Because of her disability, Genie allowed her daughter
to handle many business matters that
she would have otherwise taken care of herself.
Such as obtaining a business tax receipt,
ordering supplies by phone
and taking care of the yellow pages advertising.

After several years of mismanagement of funds,
the loss of yellow pages advertising, due to non-payment of the bill,
overbooking, hence the caption above,
and Kim showing up for work late or not at all,
Genie informed her daughter that she would be handling
the business matters in the future.

Kim's response to that was, changing the locks on the building,
telling her mother that she owned the business,
informing her mother that she was no longer needed,
and that any money owed on the loan, that started the business,
was her problem as Kim had no intention of paying on the loan.

Rather than create any more problems than those which already existed,
Genie decided it was best to move on and learn from her mistake.

However since her name is still on the building
it is necessary to set some matters straight.
Hence the need for this website.
